About Stephanie:
Stephanie Mizrahi is a performer and choreographer originally from and currently based in Los Angeles. Stephanie earned her BFA from The Ailey School and Fordham University, with a dual major in Dance and History. While in school, she performed works by Alvin Ailey, Robert Battle, Ohad Naharin, Bobbi Jene Smith, José Limón, and notable others. In her professional career she has performed extensively for BrockusRED Dance Company, is in her fourth season with Psychopomp Dance Theater, and also dances with Spector Dance Monterey and Keshet Chaim Dance Ensemble. She has also performed for Madison Olandt, Chasen Greenwood, Sean Greene, and diag0nal studio.
Stephanie’s choreographic style blends her two passions, dance and history, with an emphasis on physicalizing narratives and bringing awareness and empathy to past and present human experiences. Her hope is to motivate conversation about historical events and perspectives, and how they often parallel those of the present day. Stephanie’s choreography has been presented throughout California at various festivals and theaters including Atwater Village Theater, Stomping Ground LA, LA Dance Project (Mashup’s IWD Festival), Brockus Project Studios, Rose Center Theater (OC Dance Festival), SoCal Dance & Choreography Festival, and Forest Theater in Carmel, CA, as well as in New York City (Alvin Ailey Studio Theater) and Atlanta (Mixtape Dance Festival), and Austin (Austin Dance Festival). Stephanie’s work was awarded “Best Emerging Choreography” at SoCal Dance and Choreography Festival, “Audience Choice” at Brockus’ Choreography Showcase, and was selected for a Shift/West Residency Cohort.
Stephanie has also taught dance at The Ailey School (Junior Division), Stephs on Broadway, Legacy Dance Academy, West LA Academy of Dance, Campbell Hall, and many public schools throughout Los Angeles and Monterey County. She is a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor and teaches privates at Equinox Hollywood.
